Welcome to The Cottage Nursery
The Cottage Nursery is a registered charity limited by guarantee providing high quality childcare to children from 3 months to 5 years old in the Shrivenham and Watchfield area. Our nursery is run by our managers Clare Olden and Trudi Krzywiec and a Board of voluntary Trustees. The nursery is closely linked with the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom and offers places to families attending the college as well as to local residents of the surrounding area.

Inspiring outdoor learning
Our spacious outside areas surrounding the Nursery, offer safe and engaging spaces for children to play, explore and develop a wide range of skills for all ages. Time outdoors is an important part of our day, supporting children’s physical development, confidence and natural curiosity. Our Lions are able to explore nature further through their weekly Forest School sessions.
Peaceful sleep spaces
Babies have their own designated cot in our quiet and restful sleep room. As children progress through the nursery, they are supported to rest on their own sleep mats, helping them feel settled and well cared for at every stage.
Home-cooked meals and snacks
We offer breakfast, lunch and tea for children who attend a full day with snack provided in the morning and the afternoon. All our food is prepared on site by our chef, catering to children’s dietary needs and cultural preferences.
Flexible, wraparound childcare
Our places are offered term time only. Childcare for school holidays can be booked as an optional extra. Our opening times are from 8am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday, 50 weeks of the year. The Cottage Nursery offers a variety of sessions each day, giving families flexibility and peace of mind that, whatever your schedule, your child will be safe, happy and well cared for.
Funding support for families
We support families in accessing their Early Years funding and guarantee your funded hours when you are eligible, helping to make high-quality childcare more accessible and affordable. We also accept payments using the Government Tax Free Childcare scheme.
